Colin Wynn:

Attention to detail and his ability to capture the mood of the sea and sky makes Colin Wynn one of New Zealand’s leading sea and landscape artists.

He began painting professionally in the early 1970’s and in 1972 moved to Reefton to be near the dramatic coast and mountain country.

In 1983 he was invited by the Royal New Zealand Navy to be their official artist.

Colin has been heavily involved in the New Zealand falcon conservation project “Falcons for Grapes” in Marlborough for most of the last seven years.

"Red Door, Hyde" - Oil, 355 x 310mm

The project was established in 2005 to combat a decline of falcons in the region. This project has now been discontinued and the Marlborough Falcon Conservation Trust is undertaking part of this work. While involved in this work, he entered one of his falconry paintings into a worldwide painting competition which he won and he and the painting were invited to the United Arab Emirates for the International Conference. The winning work is part of this Exhibition.

We invite you to come along and enjoy a quality Exhibition of traditional New Zealand landscapes, with a personal New Zealand twist.
